Fall colors, Fauquier County, Virginia

A quick post and run today as we have family in town.  This is another shot from my pre-Hurricane Sandy fall color trip.  In fact you can see the outer bands of Sandy in the unusual cloud formations in this shot.  I was drawn to this scene by this incredible tree which absolutely dwarfs the two story house (I hope it survived the storm).  The contrast of the beautiful fall foliage colors in the sugar maple and the white of the house helped, too.

  6. Hey Mark,
Beautiful photograph. Aside from the distruction and flooding… Sandy also robbed us of a nice Fall season! (my favorite season to shoot here in the North East).
