Watercolor & Ink Effect, George Washington House, Barbados

Watercolor & Ink Effect, George Washington House

I acquired a couple of the Topaz plug-ins during their St. Patrick’s day sale and at last I have got close to the watercolor and ink effect I have long struggled to come even close to with Photoshop and my existing plug-ins.  I have read many different ways to achieve the effect I was looking for but either through lack of understanding, or more likely a lack of the necessary skills, it just never looked right.

This is one of the images of the George Washington House in Barbados from Monday’s post.

It is a combination of three effects developed in Topaz Simplify which started off as their presets: Painting watercolor and Sketch Hard Pencil.  These were blended and judiciously masked in Photoshop to produce the watercolor and ink effect seen here.  The image is then finished with an Acid Burn Frame from OnOne Photo Frame 4.6.

I would welcome any suggestions you may have to improve on this effect, as I have other images I would like to try it on.

  1. Excellent processing on this, Mark. I really like this finish. I’ve dabbled a bit with this as well. I have a couple yet to publish.
