Almost six month’s ago we visited White’s Mill in Abingdon, Virginia. At last I have finally found time to finish the image of the general store that sat across the road junction from the mill. White’s Mill Mercantile, like the Mill itself, is owned by the White Mill Foundation. The Mill, the miller’s house and the country store were purchased by the Foundation in March 2001. Formerly the Cumbow Store, White’s Mill Mercantile is where you can purchase some of the output from the Mill itself as well as local artwork, quilts and books of Appalachian writings.
