Relics outside Casa Grande Trading Post, Los Cerrillos
For this post we are returning to the Casa Grande Trading Post in Los Cerrillos. As I showed you in the first post, along the walls of the store was an amazing array of rusty mining relics and farm implements from the bygone days of Cerrillos. Rust, dust and general decay – an HDR photographer’s dream come true. I made so many images in the area that I had to return and show you some more.

As I have already told the story of the Trading Post, I thought I would use this post to give you some idea of how Cerrillos or some of its buildings may be familiar to you. Many thanks, Jimi. I, too, was amazed how many times this little ghost town had appeared in the movies and on TV. I can’t, though, take credit for the research – that was done by the Los Cerrillos Historical Society.
Great images. We appreciate the plug for the Cerrillos Historical Society. We’re working to keep the history of our town alive. More photos & stories can be found at http://www.CerrillosNewMexico.com
